Beantown Jazzfest
by Otto D'Ambrosio on September 26th, 2011
Last night I made the trip to the Berklee Performance Center to catch the last show of the Beantown Jazz festival. Gary Burton playing with Antonio Sanchez, Scott Colley and Julian Lage makes up the new quartet. Great show. As guitar players go, Julian just gets better every time I get to see him.
Hanging with Julian Lage.

baby D
by Otto D'Ambrosio on September 23rd, 2011
Today I'm planning to do lots of carving on this little guy. This Er-O built to the simmilar specs as the eastman made instrument. The two major differences is that the body is deeper to give the smaller body a bigger sound, and I build the guitar in my shop.

D’Ambrosio Guitars at the 2011 Healdsburg Guitar Festival
by Otto D'Ambrosio on September 06th, 2011
Setting up at Healdsberg.
This was the first year I had an opportunity to exhibit at this premier acoustic event. The HGF now takes place in Santa Rosa California every two years and attracts some of finest guitar builders in the world. This year I brought 4 instruments out to the west coast, one of which delivered in San Francisco and the remaining three in the photograph were on display. The instruments were received amazingly well. Over the three-day show I spoke with so many good people, generated a couple custom orders as well as selling the oval hole from the table. As an artist it is extremely rewarding to connect to someone that appreciates the work enough to buy or order one, but even more overwhelming is the encouragement and support I had received from my contemporaries. Thank you all.

Finished up a Monteleone
by Otto D'Ambrosio on August 18th, 2011
Thank you John Monteleone for this referral, Glad to be of assistance. I believe that Rory really liked the restoration on his Eclipse. In fact I know he did, this was a letter from the very talented Rory Stuart to you August 18th 2011 Hi John, I drove to Rhode Island on Saturday to get my Eclipse back from Otto D'Ambrosio. He did a really amazing great job replacing the binding- it's rather stunningly good. When he handed me the guitar, I had to think for a moment to remember which side (front or back) had been decaying, as everything looks so perfect and original (even exact match of the way the binding changed color-wise slightly through the years). Thank you so much again both for directing me to Otto for this work. I couldn't be happier with the result! All the best, Rory
