Owner Statement

"I spent the evening admiring my new D'Ambrosio Allegro! You are so right; nothing sounds like this guitar, this amazingly resonant instrument coupled with your sense of style, proportion and your attention to detail nothing sounds, looks or feels like this masterpiece either. It is truly a work of art. It was great meeting you and I can't thank you enough for bringing this beautiful sonorous guitar to us. You should be very, very proud of your work, we sure are!"

Builder's notes

This particular instrument was built alongside of another blonde acoustic Allegro. The woods are very similar species maples. The top plates were cut from the same German spruce billet. It is no wonder that the sound is as articulate as its better known blonde sibling. These choices of woods are very familiar for acoustic carved instruments but the process that was created for this model is what makes it so successful. A tremendous level of skill and execution is infused into every part of this guitar. The woods are meticulously fitted and joined in order to efficiently squeeze every possible nuance from the string movements. With this guitar you are able to feel the wood dance under your fingertips and against your body, its musically alive. Articulate is an understatement. This newer Allegro offering is modernized with the modified anodized tailpiece and custom D'Ambrosio carved wing pickup/pickguard.

Upon completion of this instrument, I feel that I have achieved my original vision for the Allegro archtop model, visually and sonically. It makes me so happy to have created a process around a thought and to have the finished instruments immediately revered by so many industry leaders, experts, players and collectors.
